Thriving Flowers!

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

104-82955Are you a great gardener when it comes to flowers?  I will be the first to tell you that I am NOT!

I love flowers in my yard but I tend to either over love them with too much care, or underwater them and they die.  I definitely don’t have a green thumb – my husband would say it is brown.  He is the one that has that touch to make things thrive and grow.

Wet and Cold Spring

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Set of 2 Fishing Bears - 101-82019The weather has not cooperated much this spring.  It’s been cold and rainy.  We never saw this kind of weather before.  Last weekend was our first decent two days, but we ended up working in the yard because of all the rain.  It is really wet.

With all this bad weather, baseball has really struggled to get playing time.  Some baseball teams only had a few practices before the season started.  Once the season started, most of the games were rained out.  Our golf league has been canceled three out of six weeks.  Hopefully, this will change because I need the practice.

In two weeks I’ll be going on my annual fishing trip to Lake Chautauqua.   I hope to bring back some nice pictures to share with you.

Do you have any special lakes that you fish at?

Growing Season

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

111-35462The weather has just been perfect for all things green.  We have had lots of sunshine and just the right amount of rain.  It looks like it is going to be a great harvest this year.

My husband has been busy in our garden and we are already seeing great benefits.  There’s nothing like seeing growth after a long cold winter, especially when you’ve planted the seeds yourself.

More Display Ideas from The Gateway!

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

If you have a vendor’s license, and are in the area, then I hope we will be seeing you at The Gateway to Amish Country today for our vendor-only Grand Re-Opening event from 9am – 4pm.

If you’re not a vendor, but still live close enough to visit, we’ll be welcoming you to The Gateway on May 20th from 4pm – 9pm and May 21st 10am – 4pm for Girls’ Night Out before School Is Out!

Bird Cabinet - cWhether you’re able to come to The Gateway or not, you can still enjoy some of the colorful and original displays throughout, and maybe pick up a few ideas for your own decorating!

Above is a weathered cabinet which cheerfully showcases some Blossom Bucket, Inc. spring products!  To help create that spring feeling, we added bird nests, moss mushrooms, wreaths and more, including several birds designed by Deb Strain.

Infusing an indoor display with few outdoor elements can breathe new life into your décor, while also adding color and texture.  We’d love to see how you show off your favorite items at home or in your shop—share your photos on our Facebook page!

Wrap-Up Easter!

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Let the hunt begin!Hi there, and Happy Friday!

I can’t believe it’s the last Friday in April. This month has absolutely flown by!

Did you have a nice Easter weekend? I did!

My nephew is walking and almost running now, so we had a great time.

Unfortunately, it was raining outside so the egg hunt was inside. He’s only 14 months old, so he didn’t really grasp the “hunt” part, but had a good time carrying the basket for his older cousin. She was VERY into it, and my nephew loves to help, so it was a good time!
