Time for Basketball Tournaments!

Caleb Bball

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to this new month! As you know, my son Caleb is currently playing basketball and I wanted to give a quick update as the season winds down. His team is currently 8 – 9. They had a rough couple of games at the beginning of their season, but they have worked so hard learning to play together. There is a huge improvement in the way the play now compared to the way they played in November! They Tuslaw Basketball program’s motto is: “Play Harder, Play Smarter, Play More Together.” They are proving this to be true! Good job, Tuslaw Mustangs 7th Grade Basketball Team! Caleb is #40!

Have a great weekend,
Kristy

Super Bowl!

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Well, the Super Bowl is set with the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. I’m expecting a great game between these two teams. They both have great coaches and players. I’m sure the coaches on both teams will have a great game plan, since they have had two weeks to prepare. New England is the team I want to win, since they got our homegrown offensive coordinator back. Josh McDaniels is from the Canton area, which is right down the street. It’s always nice to see local people win in big games.

Who do you think is going to win?

Have a great weekend,
Steve

Time for High School Football Finals

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

This past weekend the OHSAA football playoff finals were held here in Massillon and Canton. There were three games on Friday, and three games on Saturday. On Friday, the games held in Massillon were at 11 AM and 7 PM. The 3 PM game was held in Canton. On Saturday, Canton hosted the 11 AM and 7 PM games, and Massillon had the 3 PM game. If you like high school football, this is a great weekend. With the times spread out, you can go to all six games. There’s only a twenty minute drive in between the two stadiums.

People come from all over to watch these games. With the nice weather, there were over fifteen thousand people at some of the games. If you can’t make the game, you can watch on live TV.

Yes; this is northeast Ohio and people love their high school football!

Have a nice and safe holiday!

The World Series

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The baseball World Series starts Wednesday night. Who would think it would be Texas Rangers vs. the St Louis Cardinals? I followed the playoffs a little bit and both teams played very good baseball.

The Yankees and Phillies, who were the two teams everybody thought would be in the World Series, got knocked out in the first round. (more…)

Soccer Tournament Nail-biter!

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Like many parents, I spend a great deal of time on the weekends attending my kids’ sports events.

My younger son is an avid soccer player, and plays on different teams all year long.  His travel team started their season at the Gettysburg Battlefield Blast tournament.

Teams from all over the area, as well as the neighboring states, participate in the tournament and it has grown into quite a large event.  Unfortunately, this year’s tournament was scheduled for the same weekend that Hurricane Irene was moving up the East Coast.  Although Gettysburg is nowhere near the coast, the tournament was shortened by one day because of the threat of bad weather.
