By definition, an empty nester is a parent whose children have grown and left home.
Well, after almost 30 years of parenting, I guess my husband and I now fit this definition.
Greetings from Bucketville: Home of the Blossom Bucketeers!
Blossom Bucket, Inc. has been serving the retail industry for over 20 years, providing diverse and much-loved collections of primitive folk art, holiday creations, and general gifts. Now, we are looking forward to serving you!
Hi, I am Zhen Ridgway, new HR and Director of Finance at Blossom Bucket, Inc. It is nice to meet you here in such a nice summer!
I hope my finance and accounting experience can help not only our business, but our customers’ businesses also.
Blossom Bucket is just like my new family, and I work hard here. I know I still have a lot to learn in the family, but I am getting there.
I am easy going. I like to help people. I like exercise, too.

Blueberries are in!
Last week, I went and picked up 25 pounds of freshly picked blueberries from a co-op in my area. We love blueberries so much, and this year I believe the crop is tastier than ever.
My family loves them for their sweet taste……..I love them because they are so good for you. (more…)
One of my favorite songs of all times is “Daddy’s Hands” by Holly Dunn.
If you have never heard this song before, I hope you will take a minute to read the lyrics.
This song touches my heart.
I remember Daddy’s hands, folded silently in prayer.
And reaching out to hold me, when I had a nightmare.
You could read quite a story, in the callouses and lines.
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind.
I remember Daddy’s hands, how they held my Mama tight,
And patted my back, for something done right.
There are things that I’ve forgotten, that I loved about the man,
But I’ll always remember the love in Daddy’s hands.

Hi again, and Happy Sunday!
I know I haven’t put up a picture of my nephew recently, and since he turns 4 months old today, I figured it’s the perfect time!
Time flies!
Everyone agrees that he is the cutest nephew ever, right?
OK; I could be a little biased.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Hi there, and Happy Saturday!
I hope you’re having a lovely holiday weekend so far!
If you know me at all, you know it’s pretty much impossible for me to NOT get involved with anything involving animals. I have had my share of pets, worked at a pet store, and even volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Once the Bucket Birds were brought into the office, I kind of went nuts about them and decided to learn everything I could about them.
Here are some fun facts about our feathered friends!
Have you ever wished for a do-over, or simply that something you said or did never really happened?
It’s kind of like trying to unpeel a banana. Once that sucker is peeled there is no undoing it. I’m sure you know what I mean – you wish you could stuff those words back into your mouth before they have completely rolled off your tongue?
WHY DID I SAY THAT?……. I REALLY DIDN’T MEAN FOR IT TO SOUND THAT WAY??…..IF ONLY I COULD TAKE THAT BACK! WHAT WAS I THINKING??
I’m sure we have all wished for “do-overs” at one time or another. It seems these mistakes take place when we are most stressed and pushed for time.
There is a famous story in our history books that tells of a senator, David Rice Atchison, who served as President FOR ONE DAY, March 4, 1849.
It’s the day before Mother’s Day! I enjoy being a mom more than anything in the world. I know I can speak for so many moms when I say, “My kids are my everything.”
Tomorrow, our children will celebrate us and everything we have done for them, as we celebrate our mothers and everything they have done for us. It is a beautiful cycle.
M-O-T-H-E-R
“M” is for the million things she gave me,
“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
A word that means the world to me.
–Howard Johnson (c. 1915)
Happy Mother’s Day, moms!! Enjoy your special day! You deserve it!!!

Hello, and Happy Sunday!
Here is a picture of a gorgeous tree that I took while I was walking my dog earlier this week. As we enter May and start yet another beautiful month of spring, I wanted to share a pretty quote with you:
“The year’s at the spring
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hillside’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven -
All’s right with the world!”
~Robert Browning
Have a lovely weekend!

I had the privilege, last week, of spending three days at the corporate office of Blossom Bucket, Inc. What a treat!! I saw firsthand what it takes to produce and deliver the superb product we have across the nation and overseas.
I met people I had only exchanged emails with, and finally got to put a face with a name. I saw how Customer Service performs their duties day-in and day-out and yes…………Annie and Kristy are just as nice in person as they sound on the phone!
