I recently read this article through Country Business magazine.
There is some great advice for getting and keeping your customers attention.
As a retailer, have you employed some of these ideas with success? What other advice would you offer?
As a consumer, what are some of the little things or services that company’s provided that have caught and kept your attention?

More Display Ideas from The Gateway!
Wednesday, May 11th, 2011If you have a vendor’s license, and are in the area, then I hope we will be seeing you at The Gateway to Amish Country today for our vendor-only Grand Re-Opening event from 9am – 4pm.
If you’re not a vendor, but still live close enough to visit, we’ll be welcoming you to The Gateway on May 20th from 4pm – 9pm and May 21st 10am – 4pm for Girls’ Night Out before School Is Out!
Whether you’re able to come to The Gateway or not, you can still enjoy some of the colorful and original displays throughout, and maybe pick up a few ideas for your own decorating!
Above is a weathered cabinet which cheerfully showcases some Blossom Bucket, Inc. spring products! To help create that spring feeling, we added bird nests, moss mushrooms, wreaths and more, including several birds designed by Deb Strain.
Infusing an indoor display with few outdoor elements can breathe new life into your décor, while also adding color and texture. We’d love to see how you show off your favorite items at home or in your shop—share your photos on our Facebook page!
Fun & Unique Scarf Tree
Wednesday, May 4th, 2011
Have a collection of scarves at home that deserve more than a hiding place in a drawer or closet?
Maybe you carry colorful scarves and wraps in your shop, and you’re looking for a new way to display them?
Here’s one great idea that we used in The Gateway to Amish Country!
For this whimsical scarf display, we selected a weathered-look flowerpot on a pedestal. We stuck with a neutral color so it wouldn’t detract from the scarves.
