Annual Costume Party!

Kung Fu Panda!

Hi there, and Happy Friday!

As you all probably know by know, I am a HUGE lover of all things Halloween. This definitely includes costume parties!

My nephew isn’t really old enough to go trick or treating yet, but my sister in law found a cute “Kung Fu Panda” costume for him to wear. He got the costume on, and loved it! When she went to put the hat on him, that was the end of that! He wanted nothing to do with it! So, here he is! The “Kung Fu Panda” without his hat… Instead, that is an Ohio State University beanie. I can already see he’s going to be like his dad, and many other OSU fans. You know, the kind that think they can wear an OSU item to any event whether it be a wedding, funeral, prom, or job interview… We actually have a picture of my brother in his tux right before his wedding wearing an OSU ball cap. What can I say! I come from a long line of snazzy dressers.

What were you for Halloween? I’d love to hear your stories!

Have a great weekend!

Ways to Stay Fit Through Fall

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Saturday!

Unlike most people, the fall and winter months are my “power” months for weight loss and fitness. You’d think I’d lose weight more in the summer months, but I’m the exception! I think it probably has to do with my hatred of sweating. The only time I enjoy sweating is working out, in an air conditioned environment. Crazy, but true. But, I honestly enjoy sweating outside while it’s cooler out. I know, I know, I make no sense! But it’s just how I am.

Anyway, seeing as how I bought enough candy for about 100 trick or treaters and I’m thinking I’ll get less than 10 kids, I’m going to end up with a ton of candy on my hands. Dangerous! Here are some ways to burn some calories in cold weather: (more…)

Time for Halloween Cookies!

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Friday!

Mummy faces, spiders, and pumpkins!

Last weekend brought one of my favorite days of fall: Halloween Cookie Day! My mom, my Grandma, my Aunt Gail, my Aunt Jill, my cousin Morgan, my sister in law Kelly, and of course, my lovely nephew, all got together to decorate our famous cut out cookies. This year, we had plenty of mummy faces, pumpkins, and spiders!

Making Handmade Cards!

Friday, October 21st, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Friday!

Last night, my mom and I went to a card making class. I consider myself pretty crafty, and I always enjoy a new project, but I’ve never made my own greeting cards!

Cards

The gal that hosted the workshop had everything already cut out and set up for us when we got there. We only had to assemble the cards. We made three different kinds. One for Thanksgiving, one for fall, and then another for Halloween. Of course, the Halloween design is my favorite!

I’ve been thinking about making my own cards for Christmas. Do you make your own greeting cards? Do you have any advice for a newbie? I’d love to hear your hints and tips!

Have a great weekend,
Anne

It’s Never Too Early…

Friday, October 7th, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Friday!

I know we’re not even to Christmas yet (or Thanksgiving, for that matter), but it’s never too early to get ready for one of my favorite holidays – Valentine’s Day. It will be my 7 year anniversary here at “The Bucket”, but more importantly, my nephew will turn two years old! What a wonderful day! (more…)

Bucket Birds Update!

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Monday!

I know that we haven’t updated you on our office pets in quite a while! Since our last update, we’ve moved the bird cage downstairs into our corporate showroom. We had a big open space for it right in front of a picture window, and away from the foot traffic of the office. Zebra finches aren’t really into interacting with humans, so it’s worked out perfectly! They get a nice quite corner with a beautiful view, and we don’t get questions on the phones asking us what’s beeping in the background!

Mr. Porkchop the Zebra Finch

I tried to get a picture of all 5 of them together, but they definitely fly too fast for me. We are now down to 3 males, and 2 females. One of our females passed away about a month ago. Since we got them from a swap meet, we really aren’t sure how old any of them are, and we’re not sure which ones are the babies now. They’re just so silly!

Does your workplace have any pets or animals? I’d love to hear your stories about them!

Have a great week!

Time to Decorate!

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Sunday! IMG_2873

This weekend, I’ve spent quite a while doing some deep cleaning at home. This means moving furniture to run the sweeper, wiping down the cupboards, washing the baseboards, and putting away my spring and summer decorations to make room for my fall and Halloween! Of course, I LOVE Halloween. It just might be my favorite holiday, and I like to do it big! Here are some of my favorite Halloween decorations. You might recognize them – they are from the 2010 Dan DiPaolo line! I have several of the pieces, and I cover my TV stand with them.

BooBoo the Wonder Cat!

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Hi there, and Happy Friday!

Last weekend, my brother had some family over for a birthday dinner for his girlfriend. She’s the sweetest girl, and I can’t wait for her to be my sister in law. They’ve been together for several years, and we always have an awesome time together. I can’t believe she’s 25! Happy Birthday, Rebecca! (more…)

New Fall Challenge!

Sunday, September 25th, 2011

Hi again, and Happy Sunday!

One of the things I love most about fall is the cooler weather, and being able to exercise outside and not end up a sweaty mess. I love hiking and walking trails, and I love the colors of fall!

In case you weren’t aware of this, today marks 3 months until Christmas. (more…)

Fall, Finally!

Tito in the leavesHi there, and Happy Friday!

I can’t believe it’s the official First Day of Autumn today. This year is really flying by! Unfortunately, that also means that I only have 6 more paychecks before Christmas… Yuck! Oh well! I’ve already started my shopping, so I feel good about that.

Here is an older picture of my dog Tito doing what he does best – being lazy in the yard! He loves jumping and running through piles of leaves right after I rake them up. He’s just like a kid!

Have a lovely fall weekend! It’s almost time for taking those long country drives to check out the changing leaves!
