Happy Birthday, Caleb!

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

Happy Birthday, Caleb! On Thursday, my son Caleb turned the Big 13! Watching him grow up, learning how to make good decisions, and taking on greater responsibilities has made this mommy so proud. His fun loving way of life is infections to everyone around him. I wasn’t bothered as much when my other kids turned 13, but for some reason, I can’t shake the overwhelming feeling of sadness. Caleb is my baby, and in my mind, he should not be allowed to grow up. Wishful thinking…

Happy Birthday to my NEW TEENAGER! I look at him every day and realize how blessed I am.

Have a great weekend!

Deer Season for Kathy!

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

The males in my family long for this time every year. They enjoy the woods and all it has to offer them. As soon as the first leaf  begins to change and cooler temperatures hit our area, the guys begin planning their trips to the deer camp. They are all about roughing it, chili out of a can, no baths for days, and a good campfire to end their day.

This year already, my 17 year old son nabbed his best deer ever – a 9 pointer weighing 240 pounds. (more…)

Quote of the Day for Spring!

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

The signs are everywhere… Spring fever is here!  These little kitties by Suzi Skoglund are definitely ready, and so am I!

To remind us all that we are not waiting in vain, here’s a quote of the day for spring.

“Every year hath its winter,

Every year its rain—

But a day is always coming

When the birds go north again.”

-Ella W. Higginson

103-82408I found this quote that I thought would be perfect for the camping collection designed by Barbara Lloyd that begins shipping this March!

“Do not go where the path may lead.

Go instead where there is no path

and leave a trail.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have a great weekend!

Dreams come true; without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

39 Shopping Days ‘Til Christmas!

Monday, November 16th, 2009

098-35015Yes; you did read that correctly.  There are only 39 shopping days left until Christmas, and that’s assuming that stores will be open on Thanksgiving day, though many retailers will not be.

Even if you’re doing your shopping online, it’s not as much time as it sounds like when you begin to factor in shipping times.

I hope everyone has made their lists, checked them twice, and is ready to get out there and wrap up their holiday buying!  Or, in some cases, start their holiday buying!

Good luck!

How is your progress?  Just getting started?  Just finishing up?  Or maybe somewhere in between?  Share your stories!

Thanksgiving Quote of the Day

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

096-42987A quote of the day that I thought would be just right for this time of year!

“Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.”
-W.T. Purkiser

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Warehouse Sale – Day 1

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

bbwarehousesale2009It has been an incredible day in Bucketville!  The air was crisp and breezy, but the sun was shining brightly; a fabulous fall day!

We had an amazing turnout for day one of our Warehouse Sale.  Today and Friday are vendor-only shopping days, and in addition to retailers from all over Ohio, we also had vendors from West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and more! (more…)
