Halloween is only 59 days away! There are so many ways to be creative for this colorful holiday, and we have another fun candle project for this week’s DIY—create your own “bloody” candles!
For this project, you will need the following supplies:
Step One: |
We chose to start with white taper candles, but this project would also work well with black! Begin by lighting your red candle and letting it burn until the wax begins to melt.
Tip: Wear gloves for this project to avoid getting splashed by hot wax! |
Step Two: |
Holding your red candle horizontally above the white tapers, allow the red wax to drip down onto the white candles. It will work best to hold your white candle at an angle so the red wax can run down a bit. Be sure to rotate your white taper to ensure that you get a little of the “blood” on all sides. You can add as much or as little as you prefer. Once you’ve covered both candles to your satisfaction, set them aside to dry. |
Step Three: |
| All that is left is to place your tapers in holders and accent them with your favorite Blossom Bucket, Inc. Halloween items!
We used simple clear glass holders so as not to detract from the other items in our display, but you can always look for fun seasonal holders, too! Too accent our “bloody” candles, we selected the Small Wooden Halloween Spider by Dan DiPaolo and our “If the Broom Fits” Witch designed by Barbara Lloyd.
