Quilter’s Gift Basket DIY

Quilting Basket - 4
Here’s a gift basket that any quilter is sure to appreciate! With a combination of both fun and functional items, this is definitely a gift that keeps giving!

For this project, you will need the following supplies:

  • •basket
  • •quilting squares (about 10)
  • •newspaper
  • •crinkle paper
  • •quilting magazine
  • •quilter’s gloves
  • •any other assorted quilting items of your choice
  • •Your favorite Blossom Bucket item(s)

Step One:

As always, start by selecting the items that you want to include in your basket. This gift can be customized to the recipient by choosing quilt squares in patterns and colors they’ll enjoy or items that you know they need.

This gift can also fit into any budget because you can make the basket as big or small or as full as you choose! You can see from the photo that, in addition to the items listed above, we included pins, thread, and a T-square. Just choose what’s right for you!

Scrunch the newspaper into balls, and use it to fill the bottom of your basket.

Add the crinkle paper you’ve selected to finish filling your basket and cover the newspaper.

You will also want to add any of your larger items at this time, placing them toward the back of the gift basket—magazine, ruler, material, etc.

Step Three:

Now fill in your basket with the smaller items, such as the pins, thread, and gloves.

Remember that there isn’t a right or wrong way to fill your basket! Have fun laying out the items you’ve selected, and spreading them about the basket so that your quilter can see all of the amazing items you’ve chosen for them!

We used the Amish Quilting Teacher, Bank Barn with Quilt Block, and Round Barn with Quilt Block.

The quilt block barns, along with other quilting related pieces, will be arriving in stores in November! In the meantime, we have several other pieces in our Amish line, including the “Piecemaker” Amish Lady, that would fit seamlessly into your gift basket!
