Flower & Grapevine Angel DIY

3-c
Angels are among our most popular items, whether from the Nature’s Blessings® Collection by Robin Davis, Suzi Skoglund’s angels on clouds, the sweet and cheerful angels of Dan DiPaolo, or the new line of angels shipping in January from designer Barbara Lloyd—just to name a few.

This week’s DIY project shows you how to make your own grapevine angel to coordinate with your favorite Blossom Bucket piece!

For this project, you will need the following supplies:

  • •grapevine angel
  • •flower vines of your choice
  • •Spanish moss (optional)
  • •hot glue & gun
  • •Your favorite Blossom Bucket item(s)

Step One:

You should be able to pick up all of your supplies at your local craft shop, including the grapevine angel form.

You may want to select your Blossom Bucket, Inc. angel first so that when you’re choosing your flower vines, you can pick out coordinating colors! You can use all the same vines or choose several different ones depending on how colorful you want your angel to be.

Optional: to weigh the bottom down a bit, and to give your angel a fuller look, you can fill the bottom of the angel with Spanish moss.

Weave your selected flower vines in and out of the angel being sure to get a little bit of color all over. You can use as many or as few vines as you prefer.

To secure your vines in place, use hot glue as needed on the back of the angel.

Step Three:

All that’s left is to accent your angel with you Blossom Bucket item!

For our project, we used the “Doing for Others” Angel by Barbara Lloyd that will begin shipping to retailers in January 2011.

The pink roses in her basket and on her halo are complemented perfectly by the pink flowers on the vines that we selected for our grapevine angel!
