Here’s another gorgeous project that will allow you to creatively display your vacation seashell finds or a collection that catches your eye in the store! Accent a room with these unique natural wonders which work perfectly with our Nature’s Blessings® line designed by Robin Davis!
For this project, you will need the following supplies:
Step One: |
The straw wreath should be easy to find at any local craft shop. With it being mid-summer and the height of vacation season, bags of assorted shells should also be plentiful wherever you shop for your crafting needs.
Step Two: |
Once you’ve selected your shells, whether from your own collection, your local craft shop, or a combination of both, affix them to your straw wreath with your hot glue, starting with the largest shells.
Step Three: |
| Once you have covered as much of the front of the wreath as possible with the larger shells, go back through and begin to fill in any gaps with your smaller shells.
Having a wide variety of sizes and shapes will help you to eliminate any bare spots on your wreath. Also, the smaller shells are often a bit more colorful, and will give more contrast in color and texture to your wreath! |
Step Four: |

Place your selected Nature’s Blessings ornament in the center of the wreath. We used the “Hope” Angel with Banner Ornament (above) and the “Listen” Angel with Shell Ornament (at left, coming in 2011). Choose your favorites, and switch them whenever the mood strikes! You can attach your ornament by simply looping the jute over the pin, and carefully pushing it up into the wreath.
To give your angel a different look, as though she were hovering in the center of the wreath, you could replace the jute with fishing line. You could then attach the ornament with the floral pin or loop it over the wreath since it will be hidden. Tip: Check out the “By the Sea” and Nature’s Blessings® by Robin Davis categories at our website for other items that will work wonderfully with this project! |
