Gardening season is in full swing, and nearly everywhere you look you can find a riot of color as flowers bloom and greenery and ground cover flourishes! Bring a little of your garden indoors with these creative candle holders using hosta leaves!
For this project, you will need the following supplies:
Step One: |
Select the candle holders that you would like to use. We chose two glass pillar candle holders that had just a bit of shape to them. Remember that they are going to be covered, so you do not have to worry about color or pattern.
Step Two: |
Choose your hosta leaves, selecting leaves that are the same height or slightly taller than your candle holder. We suggested approximately 8 hosta leaves, but you may need more or less, depending upon the diameter of your candle holder. Arrange the hosta leaves vertically around the candle holder, allowing them to overlap a bit, and affixing them with double-sided tape. If you have a smaller or narrower candle holder, you can wrap the leaves around the candle holder horizontally to create a different look! |
Step Three: |
| Once you have achieved the desired look with your leaves, wrap the raffia around the candle holder, and finish it with a bow.
We placed our bows in the approximate center, but you may want yours a bit higher or lower depending on the height and shape of your candle holder. |
Step Four: |

Now you simply accent your candle holder(s) with your favorite Blossom Bucket item(s)!
We used our Momma Frog with 4 Babies. (The hosta leaves make a great substitute for her lily pad.) Tip: Check out the “Flower & Garden” and “Frogs” categories at our website for other items that will look fantastic with this project! |
