Perfect for a library, den, or your favorite reading corner, this week’s Decorative Book Display DIY project is fun and easy way to personalize your space… and your books!
For this project, you will need the following supplies:
Step One: |
Select the books that you would like to use for your project. You can use books from your own collection or pick some up at garage, rummage, or library sale!
Try to choose a variety of books that will make a nice ascending stack, as shown at right. Your stack can be tall as you wish, but you will want to use books that are thick enough to give you room work on the edges of the pages. |
Step Two: |
Using a variety of colors, styles, and sizes, stamp along the edges of the pages of your books. We’ve used purple, black, silver, and gold ink for our project. Our stamps are a heart, butterfly, and star. We also used alphabet stamps to personalize one of the books! You can stamp as much or as little as you’d like, sticking to a single pattern or using multiple colors and styles on each book. Remember to have fun and make it your own! |
Step Three: |
| Once you have finished stamping the edges of your books, place them back in a stack, and tie a raffia bow around the stack.
We used traditional raffia for our project, but you should be able to find raffia in a wide range of shades at your local craft shop if you want to add an extra burst of color to your book stack. Tip: We experimented with different books for our project, including a book with deckle edge pages. The stamping will work on the deckle (uneven) edges, but was more effective and outstanding on the smooth edges. |

Finally, use another small piece piece of raffia to tie on your selected Blossom Bucket item.
We have used an item from our Inspirational line: “Dream” with Crock, designed by Barbara Lloyd. Tip: Check out our website for other items that will work great for this project! |
| Don’t forget that larger photos of our completed projects can be viewed in the DIY album on our Facebook fan page!
We’d love to know how this project worked for you! Leave us a comment or send photos of your finished product! |
