I had a wonderful conversation with one of our customers the other day.
It sparked the topic of my blog today.
Tourist season!
He lives in Depoe Bay, Oregon. We were talking about his shop, and how he is very seasonal in a tourist town.
“What brings out of towners like myself to Depoe Bay” I asked.
He simply stated “The ocean and the whale watching.”
He explained to me what a beautiful view he has from the front of his store. Nothing but a four lane road between him and the ocean wall. In the summer months, many people come in to town to go whale watching. He said the ocean is as still as a piece of glass and you can sit back and listen to the whales blowing.
Does this sound amazing or what!
Living in Ohio, this is not something we get to experience on a daily basis. This is why we become tourists!! Looking for that perfect beach to lay on, spending time with families and just relaxing.
With our travels comes shopping. I myself love to shop…especially out of town. Trying to find the perfect thing to remind me of the amazing time we had on vacation.
