We’re still celebrating Christmas in March, and this week we have a very “spirited” DIY project! Perfect as host or hostess gift, the Christmas wine basket is sure to be appreciated!
For this project, you will need the following supplies:
Step One: |
Since this is a Christmas project, we used a “Santa suit” basket that we found at our local craft store. Fill the basket about halfway with a few sheets of crumpled newspaper. You want it to be packed tightly enough that your bottle can rest on top of it without sinking in too far. Then, fill the remainder of the basket with your crinkle paper.
Step Two: |
Add your wine bottle and selected Blossom Bucket item(s) to the basket. Make sure that the items are arranged so that you can see everything that is included in your gift basket! For our basket, we used two pieces, designed by Dan DiPaolo, that are brand new for 2010: Snowman Pulling Candy Cart and Candy Cane Fence. |
Step Three: |
| Cut a large square of cellophane.
Tip: You may want to place your basket on the cellophane as you unroll it, and test the size of the sheet before making the final cut to ensure that it is large enough. Placing your gift basket in the center, bring the sides of the cellophane up all around, gathering them at the top. Use a twist tie, string, or narrow piece of curling ribbon to tie the cellophane. Now just add a large bow of your green tool or selected ribbon, being certain to cover the tie on the cellophane. |
| Don’t forget that larger photos of our completed projects can be viewed in the DIY album on our Facebook fan page!
We’d love to know how this project worked for you! Leave us a comment or send photos of your finished product! |
