I LOVE NYC!

rcmh

Hello, and Happy Monday!

I know you only usually hear from me on Fridays, but I’ve decided to double up this week. I love the holidays, and I can’t hold my fantastic stories in! My coworkers all think I am insane, and I’m sure you know people like me. People that cry when they hear Christmas carols, start shopping early, think about decorations BEFORE Thanksgiving – all that good stuff. Yep, that’s me!
Last year, on this day, my Mom, my cousin, my sister in law and her family and I boarded a bus for an overnight trip to NYC for a fun-filled shopping day. My Mom and I took my cousin for her 16th birthday gift, and it was perfect!

The bus ride from Ohio to Grand Central was uneventful, and of course cramped, loud, and uncomfortable. But the day made up for it! We were dropped off in downtown Manhattan at about 7:30 A.M. and we immediately went to breakfast. We ate huge bagels at a deli, and then went to FAO Schwartz. The line was astronomical, and it was so crowded!

From there, we hopped on the subway and went to Battery Park to see Lady Liberty, and then basically hoofed it all around town for the rest of the day.

Once it started to get dark, we headed to Rockefeller Plaza to see the tree and the skaters. img_1897

What a magical time of year!! (Not to mention cold, crowded, windy, noisy, and so busy!!!) We got some great shots of the tree before we had to run to catch our bus at 9 P.M. We made it back to Ohio by 7 A.M., and it was such a great trip. It’s hard to believe it has already been a year!

Anyway, I just wanted to share my memories with you! It’s snowing here today – something I would have rather put off until Christmas Day. It seems to be melting now, so that’s a good thing.
Have a great week, stay warm, and I will see you on Friday!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

What a great story. It made me feel excited and happy for you. And it has inspired me to put out a few more decorations and play Christmas music. And I have to tell you there was a huge smile on my face when I saw the snow today! It was the perfect accent to our garlaned fence with a sled leaning against it.
