Well, it has been a little while since I was last here and some things have changed drastically and other things not at all.
The Warehouse Sale, once again, has come and gone! So now it is time to focus on the winter show season. We are getting new product daily, and working on setting up all the showrooms. Over the last week, I’ve had my first chance to really look at our new product for January, and it looks great. Unfortunately, it is not all here yet, and this is where the fun comes in. It always trickles in a little at a time, so we kind of play a waiting game each day to see what we get.
I hope everyone had a chance to watch Ohio State win at least a share of its 5th Big Ten Title in as many years on Saturday. It wasn’t exactly pretty, but a win is a win, and a few years from now all anyone will know is that Ohio State won; not how ugly it was. I actually didn’t get to see the end of the game because my daughter had a Cinderella Ball Dance Saturday evening. The dance started at 6:30pm and the game didn’t end until about 7:00pm—she made me leave as the game was going into overtime. Not to worry though, when we got there, most of the dad’s were huddled around getting updates on their cell phones. Once it was all said and done, OSU came out on top.
Sunday came (which usually means a Cleveland Browns loss, but when I got up I saw that they weren’t playing), and the weather was very nice for this time of year. So, I motivated myself and hung my Christmas lights up outside. I know what you’re thinking, “it’s a little early to be putting up Christmas lights, he must be one of those people.” Don’t worry: despite my son’s begging, they are not plugged in, and won’t be until after Thanksgiving. All I know is that over the next few weeks, I won’t be freezing my rear off while putting up my lights like some of my neighbors!
Just when I thought it was a pretty good weekend, I realized that some crazy person out there who works for the NFL and ESPN made the decision to let the Cleveland Browns play a Monday Night Football game. This meant that not only would the unlucky people in Northeast Ohio get to suffer through a Browns game, oh no, the whole nation would get to suffer through 3 to 4 hours of agonizing football! When it was all said and done, they definitely didn’t disappoint—they played as miserably as ever, and I am just happy that I fell asleep at halftime and didn’t waste too much good sleeping time on them.
Well, now that I think about it, I guess things around here have stayed pretty status quo.
