Having trouble keeping track of everything? Great for roommates and busy families, get organized and keep in touch with this cute & crafty reminder board!
For this project, you will need the following supplies:
Step One: |
Select the piece of fence that you would like to use. The type of fence that I’m using is a reverse runner fence, and I removed the center runner to accommodate the chalkboard. This is a piece that I happened to have on hand, but you should be able to find it at a craft store or garden center, or you could make your own! I chose to stick with a white distressed look, but you can paint the fence any color you’d like to match your theme or décor. If you do paint your fence, be certain that it is completely dry before applying any additional pieces. The piece selected for this project is 24″H x 12″L. |
Step Two: |
Next, using the table saw, cut your plywood to fit your fence. This one has been cut to 12″H x 12″L. Now you want to paint one side of the plywood with the chalkboard paint. You could also purchase a ready-made chalkboard, remove the frame, and cut to your desired size.
Step Three: |
| While your chalkboard paint is drying, you can begin to apply your decorative Blossom Bucket pieces and mini clothes pins to the fence.
I chose a spring and garden theme for my reminder board, but this project is extremely versatile and can be custom made to fit any preference! Along the top and bottom runners, glue down one clothespin, roughly centered on each fence board. I also glued one of our Springtime Mini Samplers (091-42746) sitting on the top runner. |

Step Four: |

Once your chalkboard is dry, use the hot glue to affix it to the center of the fence.
Now it’s time for the finishing touches! Along the edge of the bottom runner I added one of our resin Crows with Watering Can (091-81215) and the Set of 3 Worms with Flowers (091-81214). To add an extra splash of color, I painted the clothespins to coordinate with the Blossom Bucket pieces I had chosen. Lastly, I pulled apart the sheet moss and glued it along the edges of the runners in between the resin pieces. |
| Just think of all the ways you could customize and personalize this project! | |

I like the look of this, and the clothespins will work better than post-its. They always fall off!
