Over the weekend, I participated in the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Walk. Thousands of people joined together for one reason: to raise money to help find a cure for diabetes.
Our team name is Kaylee’s Krew. Kaylee is my 4-year-old niece living with type 1 diabetes. She was diagnosed when she was 18 months old. About a year ago, she was put on an insulin pump which is the best little device ever! It keeps her regulated, and she doesn’t have to get shots 3 times a day anymore!
The walk was held on Saturday, September 26th, at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The rain held off just long enough…just a light misting. When every ones spirits are so high, a little rain isn’t enough to get you down!
From a DJ, majorettes, queens, and more; there was something for everyone. Even Ronald McDonald came out to support the JDRF!
It is always so wonderful being surrounded by all the little ones living with diabetes and the thousands of people that come out to support them. I think there were enough smiles to last a lifetime.
Thanks for all your support.
